A fishing simulator.

Fishing games have been around in video games since the very beginning, as they have usually been as fun as... well, as fishing, unless you live in TV film and it's a flashback from an otherwise traumatized character whose father was killed in Vietnam or something.

Ace Fishing comes to amend such setback and show that m-fishing can be as fun as anything else without having to actually dynamite the water below your dinghy.

It should be said that it does its best. Graphics are absolutely above what we are badly used to, and you have not to mute the sound since the very beginning. Also, some dynamic weather and day and night cycles sauce it a little bit. Gameplay is based on a sort of give and take, pull and release mechanic game, along some special maneuvers and power ups performed by on-screen gestures. As a curiosity, it isn't a bad idea, and it looks like

However, if you are not into fishing at all, or prefer something a little bit not so repetitive, you can get bored really fast. It's a free game, yes it is, but once you are tempted to buy golden fishing rods or whatever it's more likely you uninstall it, because aside of the in sight gameplay it seems to work like a slot machine beneath, making you play over looking for a lucky shot. Ehem. Like fishing itself.

Perhaps, if there were some kind of storyline or leitmotif or reason, OR some kind of pedagogy and teaching about the poor li'l fishies to learn their habits and why is important to practice sustainable fishing and other ecological knowledge. That way it won't get more boring than it already is, but at least kids would learn something.
